- We are very happy and proud that IKEA has chosen to establish in Borlänge, says Nils Persson, Head of the executive municipal board of Borlänge municipality.
It is now decided that IKEA will buy some land in Borlänge and establish a department store.
According to IKEA is the location of Borlänge in Dalarna very good and an establishment in Borlänge will be a good complement to the IKEA department store in Gävle.
- We know there is a big interest of home decoration in Dalarna and we are very happy that we with this establishment can get closer to our customers, says Mrs. Jeanette Söderberg, VD IKEA Sweden.
The piece of land
The land that IKEA will buy is situated in the area Norra Backa, between the railroad and the shopping mall Kupolen and is 85 000 square kilometre big. In addition to this piece of land has IKANO Retail Centres bought some land with the intention to build additional shops. See the area on the photo below.
