Borlänge has a variaty of winter activites to offer. You can go down hill skiing in Romme Alpin and Nybroberget, or cross-country skiing at various places around Borlänge such as Bergebo and Mellsta. You can also go skating at the Sportfältet, there you find a 1,3km long skating track. And of course when the ice is thick enough you can go skating on the beautful lake Runn.
