Public culture services is responsible for:
Children’s theatre
During the spring and autumn, Maximteatern arranges performances for all 4 to 6-year-olds in the municipality. Programmes are distributed to all F-classes, pre-schools and childminders.
Maximteatern
The municipal theatre can be booked for cultural purposes.
Visiting writers
Three writer visits are booked for each spring and autumn in the public library’s exhibition hall in collaboration with various study associations.
Nostalgia time
This popular, often repeated event in Borlänge centrum in August is intended for the youth of today and yesterday. Exhibitions, concerts, motorcar parades, recitals, etc.
Municipal art register
All municipally owned works of art are photographed, registered and placed. All works are obtained either through purchase or donations. There are currently some 2,500 registered works of art.
Art exhibitions
Public culture services is responsible for arranging seven of the twelve exhibitions yearly in the public library’s exhibition centre. Exhibitions showcase Swedish contemporary art produced through different techniques. One exhibitor each year must be a local resident.
Borlänge Tuna Konstförening arranges the other five exhibitions.
Liljeqvistska Park venue
The municipality’s open-air venue is available to various associations. The stage is equipped with a power outlet, PA system and seats.
Ornässtugan
Ornässtugan has been a Museum since 1758 and is thereby one of Sweden’s oldest museums. Open June – August (May and September advance bookings only).
