All those with some kind of reading disability can subscribe to the audio newspapers free of charge.
Utblick is an audio newspaper for people with reading disabilities in Borlänge Municipality.
Talpilen is a multi-edition county publication that is issued to all municipalities in the county except for Leksand, Rättvik and Älvdalen. Utblick’s editor-in-chief is Borlänge Municipality and Talpilen’s is Landstingets Länshandikappråd.
The newspapers are 60 min in duration and come out once a week on CD (42 editions per year).
The audio newspapers, which are produced at Studio Vox, contain supplementary information which might normally be hard to come by for people with reading disabilities.
This includes upcoming events, notices from different associations and information from municipalities, county councils and different authorities.
There are some 90 audio newspapers in Sweden. A subscription is normally free of charge or heavily subsidised. They are sent out by mail (postage paid). Their rate of issue varies from once a week to once a month.
