Borlänge Municipality is responsible for the administration of services in your area including schools, pre-schools, elderly care, roads, water, waste and energy. 
 
The municipalities’ tasks are specified in the Swedish Local Government Act and other laws including the Swedish Social Service Act, the Swedish Education Act and the Swedish Planning and Building Act.
 
The municipal council is the highest decision-making body in the municipality.
