Admission Policy
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year program that adheres to the International Standard of the IB. The Swedish Upper Secondary programme stretches over three years, hence the first year at IBDP is referred to as the Pre-Diploma Programme (PDP)
Pre-Diploma Programme (PDP)
Young people are eligible for the Pre-Diploma Program if they
1. Have finished primary school in Sweden, and
2. Is eligible for the aesthetics program but without the requirement of a passing
grade in Swedish or Swedish as a second language, and
3. Has a minimum grade of C in English and C in mathematics
or
4. Has finished the Middle Year Program level 4
or
5. Has grades that have been validated as equivalent based on the above (applies to
applicants from another country).
The grading system in year one, will be the Swedish system F-A.
IB Diploma Program
Young people are eligible for IBDP year 1 if
1. The student has completed Pre-DP or,
2. The student has completed the Middle Year Program level 5 or,
a. MYP5 must have a grade of 4 or above for their choice of SL subjects.
b. MYP5 must have a grade of 5 or above for their choice of HL subjects.
3. The student has studied year 10 in his/her home country with passing grades in
English, mathematics, science, and individual and society.
Non-regular Diploma and / or a 7th subject are not recommended. For permission contact the Principal or DP Coordinator.
If the requirements above are not met in June, the student does not have the prerequired knowledge to start DP1, and PDP is recommended.
Course selection
The student chooses six courses that follow the IB curriculum. Three courses will be taken at a standard level (150 hours of instruction) and three courses will be taken at a higher level (240 hours of instruction). Students are to pick two languages and mathematics and take the three compulsory courses Extended Essay (EE), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS).
In case of competition for places
After the eligibility requirements have been secured, students are admitted based on the highest merit value or the equivalent. Places in Pre DP are reserved for young people registered in Sweden, or who have a long-term stay in Sweden, where compensation are made. Places are then given to students from other countries, but only after tuition fee can be guaranteed.
How to apply
Apply to Pre-Diploma Programme
The student applies to the Pre-Diploma Program through the Admissions service in Dalarna. Foreign students must send in their grades for evaluation. The process opens January. Applicants arriving in the middle of an academic year will be processed by the school.
Apply to IB Diploma Programme
The student applies to the IB Diploma Program directly to the school Alice Lundsgymnasiet.

Language and Assessment Policy
The requirement of a C in English is there to make sure the students can reach the Diploma since English is the instruction language. The assessments will also be written in English, besides other language courses.
Academic Integrity Policy
If a student breaks the academic integrity policy repeatedly, there is a chance that the student will be expelled from the programme.
Inclusion Policy
At Alice Lundsgymnasiet we have a handover of each student and the mentor and teachers involved will be informed of any extra support that the student in question has.
